Personal

Dr. Todd J. Buchanan, D.C.

"I was born and raised in Southeastern Minnesota. A personal experience with chiropractic as a child fostered a desire to pursue my dream to become a chiropractor. After graduation from Northwestern College of Chiropractic in 1996, I was fortunate to return to my hometown to join Northgate Chiropractic Clinic. My wife Shelly and I now reside in Byron with our daughter Raquel and son Nash."

An Educator

"I pride myself on educating the public regarding the many benefits of chiropractic care. Increased knowledge often leads to less apprehension when it comes to discovering chiropractic care. I am often found leading workshops and presentations for the public at our clinic, the health club, or other local businesses. I feel combining chiropractic education with treatment leads to increased compliance and, therefore, faster, more complete results. It is this formula that contributes to Northgate Chiropractic Clinic's success."

Dr. Liz Love, D.C., C.M.E.

Dr. Liz Schafer, D.C.I first found chiropractic after a significant injury in my teens. It wasn't until I was 24 that I had a life changing event and realized that I was supposed to be a chiropractor myself! I graduated from Northwestern Health Sciences University in 2011 and I started my own practice here in Rochester. After building a successful chiropractic clinic I decided to join Northgate Chiropractic in 2022 with the desire to be able to offer more options and provide the best possible care to my patients. When I'm not at the clinic I enjoy spending time with my 2 kids, coaching crossfit, gardening and doing home remodel projects. My passion is to help people understand their bodies ability to heal itself and help them reach their health goals.

Certified Massage Therapist
Nutritional Therapy Practitioner

Kristin

I was raised on a farm in the rural Rochester Minnesota area.

In 1999, after working in the service industry for many years, I decided to go back to school. I enrolled in the Chiropractic Technician program at RCTC, where massage therapy was part of the curriculum. After completing the program in 2001, I started my massage career at Northgate Chiropractic clinic, where I continue to work.

Taking continuing education classes for massage, nutrition, iridology, emotional release, and nutritional response testing have fed my interest in holistic health. In 2016, I became a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner through NTA.

Helping people find relief within their bodies keeps me motivated and brings me deep satisfaction.

Jamie Hicks, MAc, LAc, L.M.T, N.C.B.T.M.B.

Licensed Acupuncturist
Board Certified Massage Therapist

Jamie Hicks

Like many of the doctors here at Northgate Chiropractic Clinic I came to the healing arts after a traumatic car wreck in my late teens that left me in a wheelchair for almost 2 years. I knew then that the healing arts were for me because living on muscle relaxers and pain medications was no way to live at all. I am all about balance, in life and in health. By working together we can help you achieve your goals through diet, exercise, and determination.

I earned a Bachelors degree from the U of M in Human Resource Development and a minor through the Center for Spirituality and Healing. I then completed a Masters in Oriental Medicine and an Applied Associates in Sports Massage at Northwestern Health Sciences University. I have studied Nutrition, Reflexology, Reiki, Healing Touch, Aryuvedic Medicine and Tibetan Medicine.

Both Acupuncture and Massage are so beneficial to the body in bringing it back to its original balance. After building a robust practice in the Twin Cities in 2011, I wanted to move to a place where the smaller things in life were important. I have lived in Rochester since 2020 and love all that the area has to offer. If you see me out walking, hiking, or running with the puppy, stop and say hi. A healthy lifestyle is very important to me both to fuel my body and to keep me going when the going gets tough.
